Shift and Schedule - Monday - Friday, Weekends as Needed 

Job Description 

The Journeyman Electrician performs skilled electrical work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and TDLR regulations. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings. The Journeyman Electrician works independently or as part of a team, interprets blueprints and electrical schematics, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and delivers high-quality workmanship. A valid TDLR Journeyman Electrician license and a strong commitment to safety and professionalism are required.

 

Journeyman Electrician – Job Responsibilities 

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), TDLR regulations, and local codes

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Perform electrical work on lighting systems, power distribution, control systems, and equipment

  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper operation and safety

  • Identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively

  • Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, and team members regarding project status and issues

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used

  • Supervise and provide guidance to apprentices as assigned
     

Journeyman Electrician – Job Qualifications 

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), TDLR regulations, and local electrical codes

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings

  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and OSHA standards

  • Proficiency in the use of electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with company policies and safety requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
