National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Employer Incentives Seminar



During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Workforce Solutions Cameron in partnership with the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce and Texas Southmost College will be hosting the Employers Incentive Seminar for hiring people with disabilities. National Disability Employment Awareness Month raises awareness of the employment needs and contributions of individuals with all types of disabilities. 


Learn how Texas Workforce Solutions- Vocational Rehabilitation can assist with your business needs, services for youth and students with disabilities and to help them prepare for post-secondary education and employment opportunities.

  • Common Questions Employers have over American with Disability Act- Southwest ADA Center
  • Workforce Solutions Cameron Services for Employers- Workforce Solutions Cameron, Business Services: no cost, recruiting, screening and referral of qualified job seekers, post jobs, review résumés and recruit potential employees.
  • Workforce Opportunity Tax Credit and Federal Bonding by Workforce Solutions Cameron, Business Services. It reduces an employer’s cost of doing business, requires little paperwork, and applying for WOTC is simple can reduce an employer’s federal income tax liability by as much as $9,600 per employee hired. Federal tax credit available to employers who hire individuals from eligible target groups with significant barriers to employment. 
  • Federal Bonding Insurance- Workforce Solutions Business Service: Free to Business, a program that provides a Fidelity Bond for “at-risk,” hard-to-place job seekers. The bonds cover the first six months of employment at no cost to the job applicant or the employer.
  • Disability Access Tax Credit-Internal Revenue Service: Free to employers, available to businesses the maximum amount of the credit is $5,000. Credit can be used to cover a variety of expenditures to comply with the American with Disabilities Act.
