IDEA Public Schools Sprint for Scholars Virtual Challenge

Dear IDEA Friends,

With the health and safety of our community members foremost in our minds, IDEA has transitioned our 5th Annual Brownsville Educational Excellence Luncheon into a virtual two-week Sprint for Scholars Walk/Run Challenge. The Challenge will kick off on Monday, September 28 and run through Monday, October 12, with a mid-challenge leaders update and raffle. We will hold a closing program celebrating participants and additional raffle winners on Thursday, October 15. Sprint for Scholars challenges our community to walk/run a 20 or 200 kilometers in celebration of the Senior Class of 2021, allowing IDEA champions, team and family to stay engaged, safe and healthy.

We are excited to invite you, your employees and families to be part of the Sprint for Scholars Virtual Challenge as a participant and event sponsor, raising much needed dollars for IDEA students in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). Your Sprint for Scholars’ sponsorship has the power to generate scholarship and technological resources for current IDEA students and alumni facing challenging circumstances during the COVID-19 crisis.

Because of individuals like you who believe in the importance of an excellent education for all of our community’s children, IDEA Public Schools has been able to serve more than 32,000 students in the RGV area during the pandemic, reach more than 5,000 Alumni and help 100% of our graduating seniors get accepted to college for 14 years in a row!

Thank you for considering becoming a Sprint for Scholars Virtual Challenge sponsor. Please confirm your commitment by Tuesday, September 15 as we are eager to recognize your generosity throughout the duration of the event. If you have any questions, please contact Rose Marques, Regional Director of Development, at rose.marques@ideapublicschools.org.

We look forward to Sprinting for our Scholars virtually together!

All participants are encouraged to wear masks, social distance and to follow their local health and safety mandates.
