The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce (BCOC) is accepting nominations for one (1) one-year term position to serve for the Fiscal Year 2020 - 2021 and three (3) three-year term vacant Board of Director positions, which will serve from October 2020 to September 2023.
Interested Chamber members are invited to submit a resume and a Board of Directors Nomination Form. The Board of Director's Nominating Committee will review, select, and recommend a slate of candidates whose support, participation, and professional experience best compliments the Chamber's organizational goals and objectives.
The Brownsville Chamber Board of Directors are primarily responsible for the following:
- Formulate the Chamber's scope of work, approve the budget, take action on committee recommendations, and adopt policies for the general operation of the Chamber
- Maintain close contact with members of the Chamber and with other community leaders
- Establish investment guidelines to meet income needs
- Mobilize the membership's resources and talents to achieve Chamber goals and objectives by:
- Tapping into the talents and energies of the members enlisted in committee work,
- Setting objectives for each committee,
- Assuring responsibility and authority of committees as defined
- Employ Chief Executive Officer
- Approve or disapprove all applications for membership
