8(a) Business Development Program

The 8(a) Business Development Program is a business assistance program for small disadvantaged businesses. The 8(a) Program offers a broad scope of assistance to firms that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The 8(a) Program is an essential instrument for helping socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain access to the economic mainstream of American society. The program helps thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs to gain a foothold in government contracting.

During this workshop, participants will learn:

  • About the 8(a) Business Development Program
  • The benefits of being an 8(a) certified firm
  • Qualification criteria for the 8(a) program
  • The 8(a) application process
If your business is owned and controlled by at least 51% or more by an economically and disadvantaged owner, have been in business for a minimum of 2 years, have a product or service you can provide to the federal government, and want to take advantage of federal contracting opportunities, then this workshop is for you!
