One of the longest running organizations in the Rio Grande Valley is holding its annual Taste of La Frontera on Jan. 18, at the Brownsville Event Center. The Mr. Amigo Association will host the event, which will feature regional cuisine from restaurants on both sides of the border. Among the participating restaurants are Antonio's Mexican Village, Bigo's, El Camino Bakery, Chef Ricardo's, Chicken Run, Chili's Grill & Bar, Cobbleheads, Cobblestone Court, La Corriente, Elva's, El Fortin del Bravo, Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant, Mr. Taco, New York Deli, La Palma Cockteleria, Texas Roadhouse, Rudy's BBQ, Shenanigans, Tino's Seafood and The Vermillion. Nearly 40 years old, the Mr. Amigo Association works to promote relations between the United States and Mexico and highlight the way of life between Brownsville and Matamoros. The Brownsville Herald - January 6, 2010 Taste of La Frontera starts at 6 p.m. are $15 per person or $20 at the door, and can be purchased at Antonio's, Bigo's, the Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, First National Bank on Morrison Road, Now Realty at 2027 East Price Road, Ste.
