Seminar : How to register your business as an 8(a)

Learn how to certify your Business online Do you want to learn how to get your business registered as an 8(a) otherwise known as a minority or disadvantaged business under SBA? ''BSMIS,'' a workshop sponsored by the Rio South Texas Regional Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at The University of Texas-Pan American, walks participants through the certifying a business online. The session is scheduled for February 16 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, located at 1600 University Blvd in Brownsville. PTAC Director Mark Winchester encourages business owners to register online with the SBA to help obtain greater success in their business. ''This seminar provides an explanation and guidance in completing the required SBA forms'' he adds. The session also covers the eligibility criteria for the 8(a) program and completion of the electronic application. This session is free of charge and open to the public.
