Public Hearing addressing the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on location of SpaceX
Join the community on Tuesday, May 7, for a public hearing addressing the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the proposed location of the SpaceX launch site is scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at the International Technology Education and Commerce Center court, 301 Mexico Boulevard (Formerly Amigoland Mall)
The public hearing will include a poster information session from 5:00 p.m.- 6:00p.m., an FAA presentation from 6:00 p.m.- 6:15 p.m, followed by a public statement period in which members of the public may provide up to a 3-minute statement. The FAA will transcribe all oral comments. All comments received durning the comment period will be given equal weight and be taken into consideration in the preparation of the Final EIS.
Although this is a public hearing designed to address the draft EIS and/or an environmental challenges relating to the proposed location, Several SpaceX officials will be on hand to answer questions and disseminate information about the proposed project.
This project is a game-changer for the entire State of Texas- but particularly so for those in the lower Valley. While there may be some concerns regarding the environment it is believed they can be mitigated. The positive impact this project will have on the educational, commercial, growth and cultural opportunities in this area is enormous.
