Mother's Day Walking Tour

The Old City Cemetery Center invites the public to participate in the Mother's Day Walking Tour on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The tour is led by BHA Assistant Director Rhiannon Cizon. Cost for the walking tour $3 for non-members and FREE for BHA members. Tour start at 11 a.m. from the Old City Cemetery Center on 6th Street. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 956-541-5560 or 956-541-1167. May is a month dedicated to mothers everywhere and the BHA honors the founding mothers of Brownsville with a walk through the Historic City Cemetery. Along the way, guests will learn how mothers navigated life in a frontier town and will be able to leave flowers on the graves of their loved ones. Those taking the tour are encouraged to wear comfortable, close-toed shoes during the tour.
