For Hurricane Season at Free Webinar

WASHINGTON –The devastating effects of a hurricane extends beyond the coastal areas where the storm lands.  In recent years, we’ve seen how the impact of storm surge—which is theabnormal rise of water generated by a storm—inflictswidespread damages on communities and small businesses in the hurricane’s path.

The 2015 Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1. Is your business prepared for a possible shutdown on the heels of the infrastructure collapse that usually follows a major storm?   Join Agility Recovery and the U.S. Small Business Administration for a free business continuity webinar on Tuesday, June 9, at 1 p.m. CST.

Agility Recovery President Bob Boyd will present practical tips on how to make your organization more resilient and prepared when a hurricane strikes.  Dr. Gerry Bell, a hurricane climate specialist and research meteorologist from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) long-range Hurricane Outlook Team will discuss the 2015 hurricane season outlook.

SBA has partnered with Agility to offer disaster preparedness strategies through its “PrepareMyBusiness” website. Visitwww.preparemybusiness.org to access past webinars.

The SBA provides disaster recovery assistance in the form of low-interest loans to homeowners, renters, private nonprofits and businesses of all sizes. To learn more, visitwww.sba.gov/disaster.
