John & Richard: An Evening with Dr. Richard McCaslin & John ''RIP'' Ford

As historic institutions across America continue to observe the Civil War's sesquicentennial (150 years) anniversary, Brownsville is no different. The BHA invites the public to spend an evening with Dr. Richard McCaslin of the University of North Texas as he talks about Texas legend John "Rip" Ford. He will chronicle Ford's time in Texas and his involvement in the Civil War. Afterwards, Dr. McCaslin will sign copies of his 2011 biography on Ford. Copies are available for purchase in La Tienda Gift Shop and is not part of our Spring Sale. Members receive 10% off the title. This program is free to the public and is acceptable for all ages. A small reception will follow the presentation. For more information about this and other programs, call the Brownsville Historical Association at 956-541-5560 or email us at info@brownsvillehistory.org.
