Heroes, Home Runs and Hot Dogs! Professional Baseball in Brownsville Exhibit
Celebrate Brownsville's boys of summer with the BHA's newest temporary exhibit, "Heroes, Home Runs and Hot Dogs! Professional Baseball in Brownsville." This exhibit explores the history of baseball in Brownsville - touching upon the starts of the game, the teams that played and the effect this sport had on Brownsville's history. Visitors will be able to see rare photos and newspaper clippings, team jerseys, and other memorabilia collected by local resident Rene Torres. An opening reception for this exhibit will be held on Sunday, July 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Museum. Guests will be able to meet and greet with Mr. Torres, explore the exhibit and enjoy refreshments. The opening reception is free to the public The exhibit is free with paid admission to the museum and will run through August 31, 2011. This exhibit is sponsored in part by the City of Brownsville and the Lions Club.
