The luncheon themed “Do the Right Thing” is the third annual fundraiser organized to assist the Brownsville Crime Stoppers program and its mission. For the past 30 years, Brownsville Crime Stoppers has been a tremendous asset to the police in solving major crimes such as burglary rings, recovering stolen property, shutting down drug houses, solving bank robberies, recovering fugitives and solving murder cases with practically no leads.  Since its inception, 930 criminals and more than $10 million dollars of property and drug seizures have been taken off our Brownsville streets.

Last year, more than $20 thousand dollars were approved by the Crime Stoppers board from anonymous tips while police have seized more than $63,000 dollars in drugs and property.  Other callers have identified a child molester who fondled children at a local department store, as well as locations used as stash houses for human smuggling and the list goes on in which people anonymously report crimes and arrests are made based on the information provided.  Best of all, the program works in complete cooperation with the Brownsville Police Department and other law enforcement agencies.
