Children, Choirs to Sing Carols; Event is Free & Open to Public
BROWNSVILLE – Valley Baptist Medical Center–Brownsville is hosting its eighth annual “Community Christmas” celebration and is inviting all Valley children, women, and men to join in on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Stillman Lobby, located at the main entrance of the hospital off Central Blvd. at W. Jefferson.
The free celebration will kick-off with the arrival of Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus, who will be available for free pictures with the children. Santa will arrive on a fire engine.
Christmas carols will ring through the main entrance of the hospital as several school choirs and bands perform holiday favorites, including the Pace High School “Encore” Choir; the Porter High School Estudiantina “Tenampa”; and the Rivera High School Estudiantina “Brisas de la Noche”.
“Our Community Christmas is a wonderful way to welcome the festive season side-by-side with the community we serve,” said Leslie G. Bingham, Chief Executive Officer at Valley Baptist Medical Center–Brownsville. “This is an opportunity for the whole family to celebrate Christmas and the traditions we enjoy here in Brownsville.”
Valley Baptist’s Administration team will treat everyone to freshly-baked Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, and punch – and read Christmas stories to the children, such as "The Night Before Christmas." In addition, ARAMARK Healthcare employees will provide a small gift for each child, while supplies last. There is no charge for the celebration and everyone is welcome.
