Ben Steele; Bataan Death March Survivor and POW

Brownsville Museum of Fine Art Reception May 31, Memorial Day, following the Silent March at Veteran’s Park May 31 to July 10, 2010.
Reception is May 31, 12-2 Free to the Public

Mr. Steele has become a main character in the recent NY Time’s Best Seller Tears in the Darkness: The Bataan Death March and Its Aftermath.

Another Bataan Death March Survivor was Brownsville Native, Colonel Josiah W. Worthington. A collection of his poetry and letters home was complied into a book, Hell and Beyond.
