Brownsville Literacy Center's First Annual Summer Fundraiser - featuring the Tejano Boys
Brownsville, TX, quintet the Tejano Boys are specialists in their namesake's genre. Their energetic live shows and relentless touring won them a devoted following throughout Mexico and the United States. The group consists of vocalist Joe Anzaldua, lead vocalist and bajo sexto player Oscar Anzaldua, accordion player Ricky Garza, drummer Joey Anzaldua, and friends Chris Rosas on percussion and Ton Arratia on bass. Their 2002 debut, No Seas Mala, was nominated for Best Conjunto Album of the Year at the 2003 Tejano Awards. Their follow-up, De Rodillas, was released in May of 2005. Proceeds from the concert benefit Brownsville Literacy Center, a non-profit organization serving over 1,000 students annually, now celebrating its 25th year of service to the community.
