Booze and Bullets: Jose Crixell's Influence on Early Brownsville
2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Jose Crixell's murder. Crixell's influence in the city's early years went beyond the saloons he co-owned this his brothers. BHA collections manager Javier Garcia will give a talk about Jose's life and influences before unveiling our newest collections acquisition - the Marshall Badge worn by Jose Crixell - which will be permanently on display inside the BHA's saloon. Afterwards, guests will be able to raise their glass in Jose's honor as the bar is opened and everyone can enjoy the Heritage Museum. This event is free to the public and is for adults 21 years old and older only.
