Jose Cantu's voice was silenced forever by a car accident in 1952, but this influential radio host has seen his legacy grow in the ensuing decades. The BHA invites the public to take a step back in time to celebrate Jose's world and the music he played at KBOR in the years before his death. To kick of this special summer exhibit, at 2:00 p.m. on June 3, KMBH radio personality Lupe Saenz will reminisce about Jose, KBOR and the music that put the RGV on the map. A reception will follow. This exhibit is free with paid admission to the Brownsville Heritage Complex and will run through July 28. The opening reception is free to the public.
