The History of Charro Days Lecture and Book Signing

Dr. Anthony Knopp of UTB-TSC will share with guests the history of Charro Days as Brownsville celebrates the event's 75th anniversary. From its conception as a distraction from the hardships of the Great Depression to its role as a defining part of Brownsville's identity, Dr. Knopp will share the stories of Charro Days past. Afterwards, the authors of "Charro Days in Brownsville" will be on hand to sign copies of their book. Guests can purchase the book inside La Tienda Gift Shop and members will receive 10% off their purchase. During the reception that follows, guests will be able to enjoy the exhibit "A Charro Days Retrospective."
