We are delighted to invite you to the Valentine's Ocelot Gala on the evening of February 12 in Texas's Lower Rio Grande Valley. The gala, organized by the Rio Bravo Wildlife Institute, will gather friends at Chachalaca Bend in support of the endangered Texas Ocelot on the evening before the Ocelot Conservation Festival in Harlingen. It will be a terrific time with great food, drinks, music, dancing and enchantment to make this a Valentine's celebration to remember! From Harlingen, take Highway 77 South toward Brownsville. Take the South Padre Island Exit (Highway 100) and turn left under the overpass (east). There will be a mileage sign indicating Los Fresnos city limits within 7 miles. Upon reaching the Los Fresnos city limits, please take extra precautions to follow the 45 mph and 30 mph speed limits. There is one stop light in the Los Fresnos city limits. Turn left (North) at the light on Arroyo Boulevard (Farm Road 1847). Go 1/4 mile and turn right (east) on Farm Road 2480 (Old Port Road). Ramirez Supermarket is on the corner. LOOK DOWN AT YOUR ODOMETER when you turn, and go EXACTLY 2 miles. Turn left (north) on Track 43 Road. Go across the resaca (water) and turn right on Chachalaca Bend Drive. Proceed straight until you see an iron gate. If the gate is closed, follow the instructions on the security keypad. Go slowly through the gate (it's a 2-way driveway), and you will come upon the inn at Chachalaca Bend.
