The Sounds of Downtown - A Prelude to Charro Days will feature three different sounds of music heard during Brownsville's most colorful celebration. Admission price includes antojitos, cerveza, sangria, a tequila bar, and an evening of lively entertainment. An hour of conjunto music by Los Fara Fara, an hour of serenades by Trio Gema, and an hour of folkloric songs by Mariachi Gala de Mexico. Traditional Charro Days costumes are welcome. Bring your grito and ‘pesos' as there will be a Mini Mexican Market, which includes Sombrero Festival souvenirs and traditional fiesta wreaths! Tickets are $25.00 per person, with proceeds going to benefit the Brownsville Historical Association's educational programming. Tickets will be on sale starting January 18. This event is made possible by partnerships with the Brownsville Historical Association, the City of Brownsville, Charro Days Inc., Sombrero Festival Inc., and RGV Media Group.
