Scale House Visitor’s Center Grand Opening
After sitting empty and neglected for many years, the “red building” on the corner of East 6th Street and Ringgold has been turned into the satellite office for the Brownsville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. The new visitor’s center serves as a central point for downtown museums, cultural events, and general Brownsville information. It is also a focal point for visitors entering the Mitte Cultural and Historical Downtown Brownsville via 6th Street.
This diminutive brick structure was used in the 1930’s and served as a “scale-house” for Turner Company Growers and Processing.
