Scale House Visitor’s Center Grand Opening
 
After sitting empty and neglected for many years, the “red building” on the corner of East 6^th Street and Ringgold has been turned into the satellite office for the Brownsville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. The new visitor’s center serves as a central point for downtown museums, cultural events, and general Brownsville information.  It is also a focal point for visitors entering the Mitte Cultural and Historical Downtown Brownsville via 6^th Street.
 
This diminutive brick structure was used in the 1930’s and served as a “scale-house” for Turner Company Growers and Processing.
