From small mom-and-pop shops we all know and love to corporations with disrupted supply chains\, we have all had to manage the never-ending realities COVID-19 brought on. \n\n\n\nJoin the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce in its return to in-person public affairs luncheon with the State of Business & Leadership Luncheon slated for Wednesday\, December 1\, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Thought leaders from the Texas Association of Business and the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives will be discussing the big issues for businesses\, bills and policies from the 87th Texas Legislature\, the employment landscape\, and what we can expect in the near future. \n\n\n\nRegister to attend this thought-provoking luncheon and learn what you can do as the business community to overcome and be #BTXStrong! \n\n \n\nAbout Our Speakers:\n\n\n\n \n\nStephanie Matthews is the Senior Vice President of Advocacy for the Texas Association of Business (TAB). \n\n\n\nStephanie spent the majority of her professional career in and around the state Capitol. Stephanie served as the Chief of Staff for State Senator Donna Campbell\, M.D. A tireless advocate for school choice herself\, Stephanie helped Senator Campbell spearhead a wide array of school choice legislation. Stephanie worked closely with the Governor and Lt. Governor staff to ensure passage of several pieces of legislation with statewide implications.\n\nStephanie worked for then-Governor George W. Bush\, first on his campaign and then in the Governor's Legislative Office for 2 Legislative Sessions. Stephanie and her husband Matt\, a government affairs attorney\, live in Austin with their 2 young boys Knox and Hale.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nAaron Cox has spent his entire career working in the not-for-profit sector and specifically with chambers of commerce since 2006.  Aaron currently serves as the vice-president of chamber relations and for the Texas Association of Business (TAB) and the CEO of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) positions he has held since November 2011.  For TAB\, Aaron coordinates grassroots advocacy networks\, creates legislative research\, insight and education materials for chambers of commerce.  He also works to inspire chambers to action on legislative actions taken by TAB.  \n\nTCCE is the state association for chamber professionals.  In his role with the association\, Aaron works with the TCCE Board and oversees training and professional development\, operational & organizational consultation and develops operational resources to empower chamber professionals in their daily work while helping their organizations become more effective\, efficient and profitable.  \n\nPrior to joining TCCE/TAB\, Aaron served as a staff member of the Kentucky Chamber and the executive director of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.  Before the Kentucky Chamber\, he was an associate executive director for two not-for-profits where he led initiatives in workforce development\, transportation\, independent childcare\, and several youth programs among other things. He was the chief legislative agent as well and worked with legislators at the state and federal levels on numerous policy and funding initiatives.\n\n \n\nAbout the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Brownsville Chamber of Commerce is a member driven business organization whose principal mission is to advance the business interests of its members through leadership\, civic engagement\, promotion\, support\, and advocacy.
