DESCRIPTION:The National Civics Bee in Brownsville is happening on Saturday\, April 22nd\, starting at 9:00 AM\, at the Brownsville Events Center. Join us to share your support and cheer on finalists as they compete for local acclaim to advance to the state competition in Austin\, Texas\, and win cash prizes! \n\n\n\nAbout the Bee:\n\nThe Brownsville Civics Bee is one of many pilot National Civics Bee competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. At least 100 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition. Judges will select 20 students to advance to the local live competition: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge. \n\n\n\nPrizes: \n\nStudents will be competing to win cash prizes and be named a Brownsville #NationalCivicsBee champion! Each finalist will receive a certificate.\n\n\n	First Place: $500 cash prize\n	Second Place: $250 cash prize\n	Third Place: $125 cash prize \n\n\n\nMeet the Finalists:\n\n\n	Finalists to be announced \n\n\n\nMeet the Judges:\n\n\n	Judges to be announced\n\n\n\nThe National Civics Bee is presented by the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce\, with support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
