SUMMARY:Children's Summer Academy
DESCRIPTION:CHILDREN'S FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAM\nWe will be offering a children's foreign language summer program that includes French\, Chinese\, and Spanish for children ages 6 to 14.  These courses will be offered in two groups:  Ages 6-10 and 11-14.  Classes for children 6-10 will be offered Summer I from June 17th to June 27th / July 1-July 25. Classes for children 11-14 will be offered. Summer II from July 15th to July 25th / July 29-Aug. 8.\n \nFOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAM FOR ADULTS\nWe will be offering French\, Chinese\, and Spanish for adult students\, ages 18 and over.  These courses will be offered twice a week (Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays) starting June 3rd.  Registration for these courses is now open.\n \nPREPARATION COURSE FOR THE ACT EXAM\nWe will also have a preparation course for the ACT exam for juniors and seniors who may be interested in preparing to take this exam for university admission.  This is a four-week program where students meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00pm.  Each week is dedicated to one subject area for a total of 6 hours per week.  These courses are scheduled to end right before each of the national exam dates.  Our next course will begin May 14th and end June 6th.  \n \nTRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION\nWe will be offering an English and Spanish translation and interpretation course.  This course prepares students to get acquainted with the practice of using two languages interchangeably as a tool for separate or simultaneous communication.  If you need to develop and/or improve your translation and interpretation skills and become proficient in this area\, register for this course and become an even more valuable employee.
